About
I'm Lori Ratzke and I'm a SAHM/WAHM to three beautiful kids and a wife to one pretty great guy (well, MOST of the time he is!). Since the birth of my first child, I have been on a quest to find a way to stay at home to raise them and still manage to have an outside interest and a source of income of my own.
I started on my WAHM adventure by making candles. I owned and operated my own candle/soap/bath and body business for four years before temporarily calling it quits to give birth to my second child. After the birth of my daughter, I decided to enter into the candle/fragrance/soap supply business. I owned and operated Bubbles 'n Lights for six years before selling to Bitter Creek Candle Supply in the winter of 2006. The hectic pace of the business and the demands of now three kids were just a bit too much to take and I needed to step back and take a breather for a bit.
While taking my self-imposed holiday from business, I had time to really sit back and re-evaluate what I like to do. I know that I love crafting of all kinds and I've been able to get back into doing some of that. I also knew that when it comes to business I really like to come up with the "idea part" of the business. I love the planning, creating the logos, product labels, the look of the product, etc. Oddly enough, I started out as a marketing and advertising major in college before switching over to a degree in Agriculture. I guess you really do come full circle at times.
With both of my businesses, I had several websites and with each one I learned a bit more about web design, function, content management systems, site builders, graphics, photo imaging, etc. I found that I really enjoy working with computer graphic programs more than I enjoyed actually operating a business where I made the item, boxed it up and shipped it to my customers. So doing this type of business, where I would create something from graphics and make it available for instant download, was something that really intrigued me. No more packing and shipping.....instant gratification for both the buyer and the seller! PERFECTION!
Obviously, I knew I couldn't stock a store like this on my own. I would have to enlist help! So I put out a request for designers to join me. Most of us all come from the same place---we're SAHM/WAHMs who are looking for a way to be able to stay home with our kids or we're women who due to the rigors of a busy work and family life need a creative outlet. Either way, Digi Printables is a collective of these women and their work. (That's not to say we wouldn't welcome a guy or two to the mix---we're equal opportunity here!)
So with that, I welcome you to Digi Printables. We're happy to have you here and hope that you will find something you just can't live without!
